Flying Club?

Hi,

I want to take up flying and I am wondering are there any societies or any local clubs I can do this at?
Hi

We have an aviation society - you'll be able to find out more about them when you get here during Freshers Week, but their website is:http://www.leedsuniversityunion.org.uk/groups/aviation/

If you have a car, then you could learn to fly at York GC, Burn GC or Wolds GC relatively cheaply (if you have any questions about the sport of gliding, feel free to inbox me - I was heavily involved for a few years and soloed at 16) http://www.gliding.co.uk/findaclub/northernengland.htm

You know of any near the West Mids region? I took two flying lessons once and bankrupted myself. :frown:

They're all over the country  http://www.gliding.co.uk/findaclub/ukmap.htm

Look for a club that offers winch launches (as opposed to aerotows). It's far cheaper - you're looking at around £7 for a winch launch rather than £30-40 for an aerotow to a similar height. Instruction is invariably included in the cost of the launch (instructors will be volunteers), and you will pay per minute too (usually 20-30p per minute, though sometimes you will find that the first ten minutes or somesuch are free).
Thank you very much guys!
