Lol we all went mad for the hoodies; mine doesn't fit anymore :frown:
I know we weren't supposed to stray off site, but I think one or two did go off - best not to get caught though! All we wanted we could have ordered in, pizza and such.
There weren't really any parties in the evening, it was more just...massive group socialising in the bars, and then as it got late, some went to bed, the rest of us stayed up in rooms chatting for hours. Good times

Eeee. Excited.
I'm leaving tomorrow night for my friend's house (Kent) when we are driving to London in the early morning and getting the train. Why does nottingham have to be so far away from Sussex? :frown:

I'm really looking forward to meeting like-minded people: none of my friend's understand my vetty madness!

how many people go and how much are the hoodies? thx

also i have friends who are also going to the Medlink course at nottingham, is there a chance that i'll see my friends for lunch or after the lectures otherwise im kinda alone :frown:

Is it at the same time?
And I'm by the end of the first day people will have made friends with everyone. I'll be your friend, haha.
Most people are in the same boat as you.

And I heard 500-600 people go, that's what someone said on the other thread.

dont worry..you will make friends quick. most people dont know anyone when they go. and hoodies if they are priced like liverpool ones will be around £20. prehaps a bit more or less. hundreds go.

no the campuses are completely separate.
loads of people go alone. just try to meet people as early as possible - its alot easier to make friends with people whoa re staying in the same halls as you.
the people i met (rebbers and some otehrs) i met at teh station in london first, and tehn on the coach from nottingham tot he campus, and then i knda just stuck with them.
I also met people ont he train, but they were staying in different halls so i didnt see them as much, but i actually bumped into one of them in town the otehr day!
And i thought i was going on my own, but i actually met someone else from my college there! that was weird.

anyway thats my story...

but what about in the evenings surely we all can go to the same bars and social rooms ?

yeah, but when meeting people for meals and stuff, we normally just met in someones room/ in the corridor, it would just be more effort going outside etc. but you could

my friends are in flourence boot and im in newark or southwell
Reply 36
newark and southwell are on the jubilee campus. florance boot is on the main campus. you dont have meals in the same place. seriously dont worry so many people go alone and make new friends.

I knew 2 girls that were going - I avoided them at all costs. Excluding a girl I chatted to on Facebook and MSN, the best people I met were in the first 10 minutes, whilst I queued up to register. Seriously, everyone was so friendly, I more or less went round having a chat with all.
If you think about it, a lot of these people are the ones you're going to be at Uni with, and they may well end up being colleagues and friends in the future! Just get out there, start chatting and get introducing - it's really quite easy, even for the shy.

I'm going there tomorrow as I'm doing the pathology bit. Apparently I'll be in Southwell or Newark on Jubilee tomorrow night, but then going to Derby on the main campus on Wednesday. I'm doing The Edge and it says Wednesday on the ticket.

I've been trying to find out what the pathology project is supposed to be this year, but none of the links have worked on the website. Anyone got any ideas?

Might bump into some of you there then :jumphug:

Do they do the Edge on different days then? Mine says Thursday.
