Liverpool medicine A100 2023

I have applied for A100 Medicine at Liverpool, starting in 2023. My predicted grades are A*AA in bio, chem and psychology. I have already gotten rejected pre interview for Cardiff and Aston. I already had 1 interview at another university, but that did not go well so I am not confident in getting an offer from them. My UCAT is 2700 B2 and my gcses points I calculated for Liverpool was 24

I received an interview invite for Liverpool, and from the 2021-22 cycle the interview to offer ratio was 1:4.8, which I think is still makes my chances of getting an offer very slim. I will of course prepare so much for this interview, however, I fear that I have a high chance of getting rejected, as the lowest UCAT score last year interviewed was 2620, meaning that my UCAT score of 2700 is on the lower end of the spectrum. So I fear that even if my interview goes well, but not really amazing, that I won't get an offer as so many other interviewees would have much higher UCAT scores than me. I know I should remain optimistic but the other rejections have really knocked my confidence, and especially considering the very slim chances of getting an offer with Liverpool, is it realistic to assume that this year I won't get an offer? And I don't think Liverpool discloses how the UCAT is used combined with interview scoring in giving out offers

The idea of taking a gap year is most realistic for me too, although it was something I never considered beforehand as I wanted to move out of my family home as fast as possible, but I think I just have to accept it at this point

Thanks

Liverpool do not use UCAT post interview, once you get to interview, the slate is wiped clean and offers depend on interview performance. Somebody has to get their offers, so just go in there and do your best
Good luck

In their Departmental Supplement it says:
"It is usual that, unless issues of concern have been raised, the overall interview scores are ranked, and the top-scoring applicants are made an offer. In making borderline decisions, it may be necessary to make offers based on the combination of academic achievement/potential, admissions testing, the interview score of the applicant or other contextual information."

So in line wiht most places, other factors may be looked at in a tiebreak situation

Hello. I saw that you got invited to Liverpool with 2400. I got 2580 and was wondering if I could apply this year? Which cycle did you apply in?

Hi sleepystudent19,
I see you got an interview to Liverpool with UCAT of 2400 when cut off was 2660, amazing! Would be good to understand if you were a contextual / WP candidate? If so, is that why you got an interview with 2400? Or were you non-contextual / no flags and still got invited with that score?
Would be really helpful to understand a little more.
Thanks 😊

Any advice on where to apply with a UCAT of 2560 non-contextual and no WP flags?

Keele, Kent and Medway medical school, Aston and Sunderland might potentially be good options..

Thank you for updating, yes @SM2510 @M357 I was part of their scholars programme and had WP. Through the scholars programme it was agreed that anyone 2400+ was guaranteed interview.
