Hi, I have offers for medicine for both Bristol and Birmingham. I am having a really hard time choosing between the two, but I think it will eventually come down to which uni has more freedom in externally intercalating. I am hoping to intercalate in Biomedical Engineering or Neuroscience at Imperial, UCL, or Kings, and so I would like to maximize the chances of securing an offer in year 3. Or I might try to take a year out to do a masters degree related to medicine. I am not able to find a lot of information about externally intercalating from Birmingham, but it seems like a lot of students do intercalate in various universities (I've seen people who got accepted to imperial or Kings from Birmingham Biomed Eng in the student room). In Bristol, I found one source (from the university) that students can only intercalate externally for a course that is not already offered in Bristol. So does that mean since Bristol offers Neuroscience, we cannot intercalate to Imperial to do neuroscience and mental health? Does anyone know more about the process of intercalating externally from Bristol/Birmingham, and provide advice? I also want to know how hard it is to externally intercalate to London unis, and whether they divide between home/international students (I'm an international student). Thanks.
