Is it fine for me to apply for Medicine to these universities without A level Maths?

Hi guys, I'm in year 12. For medicine, I want to keep UCL and King's College London as my 1st and 2nd choices respectively, however I am struggling with Maths and I don't feel like keeping it for next year would be a great idea. The A levels I have taken are: Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Art. Do these universities have a preference to a 3rd science-based subject, or as long as I meet the entry requirements and have a high UCAT and BMAT score I'll be accepted? I am aware that Art is often seen as a 'soft' subject for some courses, but I have been told that medicine admissions tutors don't care about the third.

Yes those are fine! As long as it not Oxbridge, you don't need three sciences (math is a 'science') to apply. Although these are science med schools, they care more about you as a person and whether you are an all rounder. Art gives you an advantage as it differentiates you from other candidates.

That is a hard one.

It is true that I have read in a few places on here that "med schools dont care about the third subject", but I am not too sure on the reality of that.

More than a few admissions policies however say they arent prescriptive on the third "academic" subject. Art is in a difficult space here. Some may consider it academic but when you google is Art considered academic it says no. But thats google for you !

I dont know the specifics for the two that you mention. Perhaps @GANFYD has a view.

More generally, although nice to have a preferred med school, you may need to make a more strategic application. When you post your UCAT stats and other stats on the what uni megathread you may find the strategic choices that are open to you then may not support Art its hard without asking them all now.

That might be what you have to do to be best informed. If so do it in writing.

Oh and btw for reference, I am a home and non-contextual applicant.
