For those doing creative BTECs, how much uni application support did you get?

I am planning on starting a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production in September 2024, at a nearby FE college. I'll be a mature student and I've previously attended university before and had to drop out due to illness. I have absolutely no experience of BTECs and vocational college courses or even with anyone else who has done them, me and my friends have all done the traditional A Level/Access Course route and mostly in essay-based humanities subjects - so I have no idea how it works with BTECs and supporting you in the UCAS process. Is it more difficult to take time off to visit universities? Should I spend this year before I start going to open days so I can save time later, or should I wait until I have more experience from the course?

For people who have done the BTEC route in creative/arts subjects, did you feel like you got as much support from your tutors through the UCAS process as people in your college doing A Levels did?
