Oh, very interesting. Actually, that does seem to make it more the spoiler more likely to be a true afterall. You're right - why deny something you want people to believe? By calling it nonsense and referring to multiple spoilers (refusing to identify and draw attention to the one) it makes it more likely to be ignored, which is what he wants. After all, he's not lying this way, as there actually are many utter nonsense spoilers - just not this one.
