Testing for ions

I'm doing my igcse's at the moment, and I really need help in testing for ions and gases. Someone please help.

These aren't covered in the document:
To test for hydrogen, put a lighted splint in hydrogen gas and there should be a squeaky pop if hydrogen is present.
For oxygen, it should relight a glowing splint.
For carbon dioxide, it will make lime water cloudy if it is present.
