OCR A Chemistry Pag 6.1 Synthesis of Aspirin

Calculate the theoretical and percentage yield of 2-hydroxybenzoic acid. Assume the oil of wintergreen was 100% methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate, of density 1.17 g cm^-3. I'm really confused by this question I have the mass of oil of wintergreen and 2-hydroxybenzoic acid but I'm not sure how to go on from this.

yep i was confused about the same thing and its due soon too because i have my own mass but do i use that and then assume 1.17 as grams and use that for the theoretical yield or what :frown:

...I got a 148% Yield...I didn't use the density = 1.17 thing...so I think I made a slighhhtt mistake, but I'm not sure what i've done wrong in the calculation, more that I don't know how to do it and I just attempted it. The Practical itself went fine.
