Kingston 2013, accomodation/freshers?

hey everyone. going to Kingston this September and a bit worried; due to personal reasons its not really suitable for me to live at home while going to university but I live quite close by, I live in Slough. I'm also a clearing student so not sure if they have any space. I've heard you can apply as a clearing student as of today its now 12 but unsure if i'll get anything because i'm so close by. (they have a 15 mile radius rule or something) - also going to ring them up later today. can anyone tell me what chances of got staying in halls? - another note is i'm worried about freshers is because I have no idea how it works.. any tips or advice? thanks in advance and sorry for the long paragraph. enter key not working!
