UoM gym facilities?
Can anyone tell me anything about gym facilities at the University of Manchester? Is it free for students? Do you have to pay for a membership? How much does it cost? etc.

There are three UoM gyms
Armitage http://www.sport.manchester.ac.uk/facilities/armitage/ (outdoor sports facilites + gym located in Fallowfield)
Sugden http://www.sport.manchester.ac.uk/facilities/facilities-sug-site/
Aquatics http://www.sport.manchester.ac.uk/facilities/facilities-aquat-site/ (there are Olympic sized swimming pools + a gym there)
They're not free for students, but they are subsidised, and they work out pretty cheaply (details for each are on the links above).

How do you join these gyms? Are you able to just walk in a ask to buy a membership, or do you need a card/code to get in, in the first place?

They all have a reception desk
