You could substitute back in to your original equation and check.

Alternatively, feed it to the Wolf, which gives a slightly different solution.

Edit: For some reason that URL didn't work properly (though it did when I refreshed it - ho hum). But basically, your P.I is incorrect, the C.F is fine.

Edit2: Now it does appear to work. Wolfram not being consistent in its interpretation for some reason.

I checked the PI quickly by D operator and got 2cosx instead of sinx

Would the trial solution be qx^2 + px +r ?

Where p,q and r are to be determined
