Diabetics

Do diabetics have shrunken cells. The reason for this is because the glucose in the blood will draw water out of the cells through osmosis.
In type 1 diabetics, beta cells in the pancreas are destroyed by an auto immune system.

"Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition, where the immune system (the body's natural defence against infection and illness) mistakes the cells in your pancreas as harmful and attacks them" - NHS
