helpp dont know how to make hypothesis
the stimulus is 'Jen adds her carrots to water and john adds his to a salt solution. Both find that, after some time, their carrots change in mass.
Hypothesis 1: both carrots increase in mass
Hypothesis 2: both carrots decrease in mass
Hypothesis 3: Jen's carrot increases in mass whilst John's decreases
Hypothesis 4: Jen's carrot decreases in mass whilst Jen's increases
One of those 4 things must happen (well, unless their masses don't change) so you accept 1 and reject the other 3 depending on your results
