Not enough for medicine?

Ahh okay. Any thoughts of what you want to specialise in or too early to tell?

Not really sure, so I've applied for a couple of things and I'll see what I end up with. Definitely not surgery is all I can say for certain. Do you have any idea? It is very hard to tell so early on, though, and most people who do still change their minds!

Oh okay, why not surgery?

As for me, it is FAAAR too early to tell and I know med school will give the opportunities to experience a lot of the specialties so keeping an open mind. I also feel like if I decide something now, I'll not only change it later but it may be harder to do so because I've gone into med school with a field in mind already. Of course this is not the same for everyone- everyone thinks differently.

That is very wise. Almost everyone I know who started med school with a specialty in mind changed their opinion at least once.

Not surgery mainly because I've found surgical specialties to be often comparatively hierarchical, and also because my surgical friends seem to have a poorer work-life balance. Whether they're an reflective sample, I don't know, but that sort of life isn't for me.

Heh, I love GPs. But I don't think I fancy GP as a career (and I did think about it quite hard, because I'd like for it to be my thing!)

Well I wish you the best of luck in choosing a specialty!

brexit is political, it has nothing to do with the GMC!

Considering that Brexit is just around the corner, I would say that that isn't brilliant advice.

you advised against studying in europe because of brexit. I'm saying brexit will not affect the recognition of medical degrees from the EU.

Never said it did.
