What to say when there's 2 solutions for x?

hi, in a recent paper i did you had to factorise x^2-5x+6=0 and the solution was that x=2 AND x=3. you couldnt get the mark if you didnt say 'and'
why is this?
+ how do u know whether to say 'x=.. AND x =...' or 'x=... OR x=...'

I'd disagree with that.

Logically, by using 'AND' you are saying that xx is equal to both 2 and 3, hence implying that 2=32=3 which is nonsense.

So you need to use 'OR'

Otherwise, you can just put x1,2=2,4x_{1,2} = 2,4 or just say x=2,x=3x=2, x=3.
are you sure it wasn’t x-2 and x-3

since (x-2)(x-3) is the factorisation of that quadratic
