In an OUSU or JCR election, you're allowed to say "Vote ___" and you're allowed campaign posters. In a Union election, you're not allowed to even discuss the election unless it's with "close, personal friends". Obviously nobody follows that but its difficult to prove - even with videocameras out in Hilary Term they couldn't prove hacking was taking place; however having content breaching the electoral rules in an open forum that can be easily recorded as evidence can open up a can of worms.
