Hello I am thinking of getting a nursing degree then apply for GEM or Biomedical science to GEM. I feel like nursing will be better if I get rejected to do medicine I can continue with my nursing degree

I think it depends on which you like better; nursing and biomed both have really different graduate prospects, but both will equally help in GEM content-wise.
