Hey, I've just booked a place at Vet Medlink at Nottingham in December and I was just wondering if anyone else was going? Also, if you've been before what was it like?

I went last year... to be honest it wasn't what I expected. I thought we actually got to do hands-on stuff and even bought my wellies.
I am not exaggerating, we had lectures from 9 in the morning till 10 at night, with like 5 minute breaks in between and an hour or so for lunch/dinner :p: so yeah it was pretty knackering!
it was a good experience though as it kinda prepared you for life as a veterinary student and gave you an insight into the different areas of vet-med.
and I met some great people, we were up till like 2-3 in the morning most nights lol in eachother's rooms or just generally running round riot
have a good time but be ready to be really tired haha.

Are you all going on your own or with people you know?

Ahaa that's a bit annoying :/
It should be good though

Just read that the course will not better my application
Reply 10
I've heard some people say that but I'm sure it will.
Either way it's still a good way to prepare you for vet school and university life

I went on my own a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. Met a group of about 6 other 'on their own people', went up, said hello and we were inseparable for the rest of the time!
We're still all friends now.

I'm going on my own and so are a lot of other people I think. I'm travelling from Sheffield so its not too far. You should book it though as I'm sure you'll make new friends there and it will be worth the experience

The admissions tutors these days completely ignore them due to the fact that they're so commercialised and so commonplace.

Sadly paying £300+, sitting through a few lectures and some underage drinking in the evening doesn't automatically qualify you for vet school nor does it prepare you for 9-5 days with revision, project work and EMS slapped on top.

Well I've heard a lot of people saying it's great, and I certainly haven't paid £300+ :/
