Probability density function - how would you find K

f(y) = { Ky if 0 <= y <= 1
0 otherwise

I haven't got a clue how to solve this. Could someone give me a pointer please?

Thank you :smile:

The area under a graph represents probabilities, so the total area will always equal one. You can do this various ways to find k. Integrate wrt y, or consider the shape of the graph and the area of that shape.
