Anybody think that TARDIS scene with the recorders and then suddenly everyone forgetting and noticing Canton's hand blinking was brilliant. We jumped with the characters, and that - that was great.
Didn't the Doctor say that the silence are parasites that live of our creations? Which is why they needed us to invent the spacesuit in the first place before they could manipulate it into something they needed? Then how could they have built that fake Tardis? They would have had to wait for us to create it first wouldn't they? Or am I completely of the mark on this one?
Also the astronaut was seen coming out of a lake in the first episode so could the silence have simply needed a suit that would allow someone to walk in and out of water, (would a spacesuit allow this?) and hence kill the doctor? As there was a silence there watching the doctor die, they might have planned the whole thing.
I think the Doctor was saying they could build stuff but they prefer to get others to do it.

The doctor does have a grand daughter from the very first episodes in the 1960's but I very much doubt there will be a return to that storyline after all these years.
I find it a bit odd that the silents were around yet none of the recordings from the period (tv, tape etc...) picked them up. Surely one would be caught somewhere.
They probably have been, but as soon as they stop being on the screen you forget about them, and therefore no one would ever know.

They're everywhere...so there might have been Silents in gallifrey/following the Doctor around. Or something.

I suppose so yet when the doctor and the others see the silence again they seem to remember seeing them before.
When amy wakes up in their ship, she expresses no strong shock at seeing these creatures. She acts as though she knows what they are.
When the others come out of the tardis they don't react to seeing them. The doctor just starts talking to them straight away.
Surely as they're not exposed to recordings or the creatures themselves 24/7 they would forget about them, even in the seconds it takes to walk out of the tardis.

I think it was just a way to wrap up the episode. Would be kind of hard to remember how to beat something you keep forgetting about. It's a really bad way of doing it though.
Does anybody else find the Doctor having any sort of sexuality a tad off putting Obviously Time Lords have to reproduce, but it just seems so... human ... from the Doctor himself :s
Also, I thought Canton was hitting on the Doctor when he was fixing his bow tie
Not really. I don't care that he has a sexuality and it doesn't make him any less Time Lord. Besides how are Time Lords supposed to reproduce?
I notice (not saying this is you) that certain sections of fandom seem to get irrationally angry at the thought of the Doctor kissing or having any romantic links with people because it's 'not right'.

Because they've managed to figure out that there are creatures there without seeing them, and therefore remembered.

While you can see them you remember previous encounters

I don't think there could be any thing more 'right' than the Doctor and River
