I'm sure it is, which is why I feel so bad about not wanting to see it at all.

I would urge you to, even if you have no real interest in motorsport. The story is phenomenal, and it is compiled in a way that the lengthy time goes by in a blur of emotion. Being on board during the last few turns, knowing what is about to happen, is truly harrowing.

Well, I did watch The Fighter despite having no interest in professional boxing...

Keep getting mixed up between The Green Hornet and The Green Lantern. Confusing my mind grapes. :woo:

Now there's 2 other films that are supposedly going to follow (maybe have one in each decade), do you think they should leave the original trilogy alone? Or will there be a point where they reboot that era again with a fresh take?

I haven't finished yet. Just finished the first chapter of The Way Station (I think). So far it's alright, not spectacular. I know the first is considered to be fairly weak (but not compared to the last 3?) but I can understand it's more like a prologue to the main story.

I honestly can't remember. It was two or three years ago since I read The Stand. You'll probably notice an immediate theme which is comparable to Lost when you read the book, but I don't want to spoil it. Also, apparently the tower on the island in Just Cause 2 (and this is the Lost island easter egg) is inspired by The Dark Tower. Do Japanese WW2 soldiers reside in King's Dark Tower? :p:

Looking forward to reading it then. Will report back. I've heard about a Lost island easter egg in a video game, but not about the Dark Tower. And nah, no soldiers.

Had this confusion too. :ninja:

The Green Hornet - comedy Batman with Seth Rogen with a few laughs.

The Green Lantern - superhero film that takes place on Earth and in the universe with a race of super-powered beings with super rings capable of doing anything they can imagine.

Neither sounds all that appealing. I realise my summaries are over-simplifications. :awesome:
Do any of you know any other forums that are dedicated to films?

TSR, the one and only. :pierre:

RottenTomatoes, KillerMovies, Box Office Mojo and TheComingSoon

For quality of discussion, I personally prefer the film section of Something Awful by a mile. It's the most insightful, mature and intelligent forum I've been on.

Ah thanks a lot  I didn't know RT had a forum!

De Palma's 'Redacted' is genuinely one of the most powerful war films I've ever seen. Harrowing is definitely the right word for it. I'm unsurprised it caused such a controversy in America.

The way it's filmed and the way it presents its themed are unprecedented.

And, even better, it's available for only £3 in Tesco.

Hello fellow film fanatics/aficionados
How many of you have been to riverside studios in London ?

They specialise in Independent cinema and noir stuff from the 50s, what a lovely concept !

It's an alright concept.
Catching up on all the Pixar movies recently. Up is brilliant. The opening 10 minutes had me close to tears, which is a monumental achievement considering it's animated and has no dialogue.

Same.

Watched Tangled, Cars and Toy Story 3 in recent weeks.

I must say, I enjoyed all three a lot more than I expected to. All three had very good humour mixed with excellently well put-together action scenes. The dialogue in Pixar films is much cleverer than I remember, too.

I hear nothing but good things about Up, but the lack of dialogue puts me off. It was one reason I was switched off entirely by Wall-E (amongst others).

What if the first ten minutes were not animated and had dialogue, but still brought you close to tears?

- was going to watch X_MEN tonight, but I can't walk cause of this swollen foot.

I really want to see Julia's Eyes. I'm probably going to have to go to Leicester Square to see it because my nearest cinema sucks, but I think it'll be worth it. I can say to my parents that it's good Spanish practise.
