I have just read this and my textbook carefully and I am still not sure on this. Is it because you can't refer the amino acid itself as its Conjugate acid??? I get that acid donates protons and bases accept protons . Thanks

NaOH would react with the acid group to form the sodium salt
when an acid group loses a proton, it forms a conjugate BASE.
The question says it reacts to form the conjugate ACID, that is not true.
