”Extinction” ”Rebellion” proceed to block traffic *YET AGAIN*

So, everyone's favourite eco-armchair warriors have blocked traffic in London, Bath, Glasgow, Leeds and Cardiff with... large pink boats. Has it not penetrated their daft skulls that this only creates more traffic and thus pollution? I await the champagne socialists jetting over in first class from LA to protest aeroplanes. Real working class heroes...

Pollution is not what they're protesting against. They're protesting against C02 emissions causing climate change.Arguably it won't make much difference to c02 emissions whether cars are sitting in traffic or not.
Remember...one square of loo roll each. 🙂
They dont really know what they are doing, bunch of bored tossers who made it their mission to **** up as many peoples day as possible all while being no closer to achieving their claimed goals.

Tell me about it. Someone in the year above (name censored to protect the guilty) has the ER symbol on his backpack. I think he also has a pro-Corbyn thing on there but I may have forgotten - I've spent a week in Anglesey (Ynys Môn for the TSR Welsh contingent) away from that dump of a school.
it will turn nasty before long.... one of these eco-saints will be martyred by an impatient motorist etc...

It's not like we need to be told about it by any of these people, or that nothing is being already done about it. What are their recommendations on the control of numbers of people, an equally pressing issue when it comes to saving the planet? None, that would be too specific.

Absolutely, population is the biggest killer of the planet but it's ok because we are using reusable straws when drinking from our plastic Starbucks cups ;_;

Anyway, is this going to go on forever? There will never be a point where 'enough is being done', that's just a mirage that perpetuates the excuse to go out disrupting other people's lives instead of protesting within the norms of civility. They have an over-inflated sense of self-importance, as much as the CND had. The dictatorial streak to them and all that. Green melons all of them, green on the outside but red on the inside. Easily fact-checked in these very pages.

Is it though? Trump pulled out of the Paris agreement.Britain is building a new runway at Heathrow the single biggest source of carbon emissions in the UK.We're also investing in Fracking another source of co2.Russia is investing in new ships so that it can use a new trade route over the arctic. It doesn't exactly scream sincerity from world leaders. Its half measures at best.

As for population, most of that growth is meant to be in Africa. Most C02 emissions are actually caused by Europe and America and China not the world's poorest countries.Although I agree overpopulation is an issue.

It's not though. The millions in Africa don't fly around on luxury holidays everywhere.

I mentioned the CND for a reason, they too believed they could change not only Britain but the world by extension. In the words of one of their founding members at a much later stage, they accused the British Government of over-stating the influence of the nation in the world when making the case for nuclear, it later became evident that even if the CND had succeeded in disarming the UK... it wouldn't have mattered to anybody else. The CND themselves over-stated their own importance, the thoughts of a founding member. Anyway, I think they mostly protested in a civil manner compared to ER. It was about saving the world to them too, let's give them that.

Britain is building a new runway at Heathrow the single biggest source of carbon emissions in. It's not though. The millions in Africa don't fly around on luxury holidays everywhere.

But they will want to progressively as living standards will hopefully rise, as much as with all other consumer items in this world. Everyone in the world want a mobile the day we all make it a paradise, I actually see the increase in numbers as the biggest and most immediate challenge. Make it a crime to have more than two kids per couple, are we serious about saving the planet or not?

Bonus feature for the public at large: if asked which party decided to start a nuclear program in the UK... what would you say? That's what I thought too but no, it was the other one.

Do you have a source for the latter remark?
We're also investing in Fracking another source of co2

Aye but its better than coal, no?
.Russia is investing in new ships so that it can use a new trade route over the arctic

Whats wrong with that?.
protesting against climate change... climate change will happen whether we're on this planet or not. what about the ice age all those millennia ago? humans weren't around then yet everything froze over. what do they actually think they'll accomplish by doing these? leaving cars idling waiting for them to move will undoubtedly do more bad than good.
