Yeah she said that although she'd have them ready for the first week, we have to wait until the second week because of departmental rules. I'm aiming to top the 70 I got in European history, probably won't though :p:

). Oh well, it's only a week extra.

Same here. Hopeful of getting a 1st, especially since she said she's a lenient marker. But anything less than 65, I'd be disappointed.

When Mara asked the class who they thought was right at the end of the seminar, we won about 10-2. Not bad to say I overslept and missed when we were meant to meet up and discuss the subject, haha.

These debates are so enjoyable if you're not on the panel; you virtually have a free lesson. I just sat through the debate and didn't say a word in class. The debate was good, though. I didn't buy into one group, who were arguing that the US had dropped the bombs to save American lives. No. Just no.

I think it's impossible to compare multi-faculty universities like QM, UCL etc with rather specialised unis like the LSE or Imperial.

League tables are for insecure ******* anyway.

I agree. No-way is Goldsmiths, City or Brunel better than QMUL.

However, I think there is more debate with RHUL and SOAS. I think we're more or less on a par with them, tbh. Just realised, I'm sitting on the fence with that comment. :biggrin:

Research wise QMUL obliterated RHUL in the last RAE, hell it even beat Kings overall, socially I'm guessing QMUL owns it aswell considering what I know and I've heard about it and how it's out in the sticks. So that pretty much leaves only teaching that RHUL could be better on, even if it is it's still lost 2/3 categories. So imo QMUL is better :p:

Can't really compare it to SOAS though because SOAS is so narrowly focused but also excellent at what it's done, it's just that most of the public have never heard of it, not to say they've heard of QMUL either :biggrin:
