Same :teehee: We have a rubbish tip and a swamp where we play- at least 2 search parties daily conduct operations in the tip and 2 balls every day are martyred in the swamp.

The shopkeeper used to give us discounts on balls and tape :teehee:

Haha  This is all so true

Playing in empty plots is the best :daydreaming:

Otherwise, if you hit it in the house you are out :mmm: :colonhash: Think this rule applies universally throughout the whole of PK

We used to play adjacent to this big mango orchard before and the old man had bigg boundary walls and three dogs roaming inside his property..So every time somebody hits the ball over the walls, not only is he out but also he has to climb over them fences and face the dogs

And ohh, this swamp thing I guess applies to every galli and street her and in Pak...we had these thorny bushes and lost atleast a tennis ball everyday :colonhash: Then there would be a specialist whose smelling and sniffing capabilities were far superior to the dogs and he would recover the balls next day

How big is cricket in Pakistan? The media always give the impression it is 100x bigger in India, but considering their shared history/heritage etc. I thought it would be equal among both countries?

I can understand it being a bit less in Pakistan now due to the security issues and lack of games I guess.

Oh and two down.

Haha ahhh Pakistan :daydreaming:

Dont know about swamps, but overflowing gutters, yes :colonhash:

We got balls stuck in coconut trees, and the pathans climbed up to get them

Also, there was this empty house, and at least 5 balls had gone on its roof...so they got a ladder, climbed on to the balcony, then put the ladder from the balcony onto the roof and got the balls back haha, if that makes any sense

Tredders has got 3 wickets already! I'm so happy for him, I love it when a player finally gets their chance to play and they really step up. Same could be said for Wright aswell (despite what I posted earlier :colondollar:)

England don't actually deserve to get through after the way they've played so far in this tournament. They'll probably get crushed by whoever they play in the quarters  But I'll be supporting England as far as they go nevertheless :proud:

 Its just the same here too, there would be a designated climber who can crawl buildings and rescue the ball from the top of buildings and play can resume in a flash.

Its a real pain here to find any empty space to have a match on. Some of the images I see of my cousins from Eng and Aus and all, they all got the lush green outfields and fancy coaching and stuff even for the small kids..:daydreaming:

But things have changed in the couple few years, rolled mats...oversized gloves and pads and a big football field to play cricket in everyday, but somebody has to occupy that place as well before other parties come running and plant their stumps :colonhash:

I beg to differ, true that they have lost to ireland and Bangladesh but the same can be said about India who have been hyped so much but haven't done justice to themselves..And then there is Bangladesh, dubbed as the potential "semi-finalists" (they still can be) but are on the verge of being out in the Group stages..

England have done well against the big teams though their habit of playing poorly against the weaker teams is err :s-smilie:

I believe, if they get through to the quarters, they will do well and possible face Australia
Come on Windies you can do this.
What a ****ing innings by Gayle.

Street cricket is still very big although people got very disillusioned with the team after the Sydney Test and the match fixing- I think they're starting to recover though. In terms of tape ball street cricket you see pretty much all youngsters especially in the Punjab being crazy about it. Other sports include hockey in particular and the more well off may go into squash.

I would say the level of passion in terms of street cricket in India is the same. The difference is the Indians are hyper confident their team can win whereas we're being slightly more circumspect at the moment (still super excited though :bhangra: ).

Ahh indeed empty plots are exotic :coma: Yeah we had that rule as well- if you hit it into someone's house or rubbish tip you're out. If you bludgeon it into the swamp (proper swamp lol not a gutter) than you lose two go's.

Even as a die-hard England fan I can admit that beating SA was a bit of a fluke, thanks to a brilliant spell by Broad and a collapse by SA. And now Broad's out, Shazhad's out, Anderson's been dropped and the team's looking flat. I'm 90% sure we wouldn't beat Australia, as much as I'd like us to!

Hurrah, Sammy's gone! :w00t:

What were your scores chacha? :colone:

The English players and the commentators seem to have gone mad at the change of tactics WI are employing.. 130 more, 34 overs..6 wickets in hand..Sarwan there to steer and Pollard to hit..:s-smilie:

Good thinking by Sammy, now to be seen as to the plan works in favor of them or leads to their demise
