Unofficial mark scheme aqa maths non calc 6/6/11

1 a) -3 +7 x 5= 20
b)-3 x 5 -7=-22
c)-3 x -5 x 5= 75

2 a) 1 and a half hours
b) 30 minutes
c) draw the graph
d) 40 mph

3 a) 100 degrees
b) 160 degrees
c) z=55 degrees

4 x=7, therefore 4x+10=38, forgot the second equation, 30-x=23

5 AD=7.2

cant remember the questions until...

(2x+3)(2x+3)
------------------
(2x+3)(2x+1) which then equals 2x+3 over 2x+1

the completing the square backwards question was a=-10 and b=15

sector question-5cm x 2 = 10cm x pi=10 pi. 2.5 pi divided by 10 pi = o.25/ a quarter. the sector is a quarter of the circle, so 360/4=90 degrees

volume of hemisphere=144pi cm3

vector question, i got true true false true.

i think the minimum for A* will be around 50-55 as people found it hard

hope this helped

I went through the paper with my maths teacher today.

The paper has 100 raw marks out of 100... there is no "Out of 70" there is no "UMS" system in Spec A maths.
