Could someone explain why the work done per stroke (W=Fs) is 150x0.42J? How does it get 150N from the 50N in the question?

Thanks

It's a mistake (misprint) in the question.
If you use the numbers in the question the object gains more potential energy than is put in by the jack. This is impossible.
150N must have been the intended value in the question.
