how many rounds is there in British Olympiad? will you pass into icho
There are basically 2 rounds. The first is an open competition. From this competition top 20-30 are chosen to go to Cambridge for a weekend. It is there that the four finalists are chosen.
Well for Organic I'm using McMurry with problems from Klein's organic chemistry.
For physical chemistry, I'm only reading the first 11 chapters from "Elements of Physical Chemistry" by Atkins as anything more seems excessive. I have so far completed the first 7 chapters from Atkins.
For inorganic chemistry I'm reading "Basic Inorganic Chemistry" by Cotton,Wilkinson and Gaus. I couldn't find another decent book at my local library.
I haven't really started on Biochem, but I've read a lot of Campbell's Biology, which I hope will somewhat help.
I haven't really started IChO papers yet but I'm hoping to start after the holiday.
BTW Chem books are SOO expensive. How do people even afford these lol? I had to carry these books in my bag on the way back from the library and my bag almost ripped apart.
Also I'm not really reading these books just for the IChO as I genuinely want to to read up on as much Bio and Chem before I start Maths at university as I know I wont get a chance like this again. Posted from TSR Mobile
Cambridge physical natsci first choice or imperial physics with theoretical physics: as with you Cambridge is the aim, but nobody can be sure of a place!
