Whitworth Park Question

Hi there,

I am an undergraduate student with an offer and I have applied for Whitworth Park as my first choice. I was reading around today and have found a few forums mentioning how quite a few of the floors on each flat is single sex - I read that the ground floor is male only? I wanted to know whether this was still the case, and if so is there any way ensuring that this won't happen, and whether it would make much difference to student life.

It depends which house you are in. There's no way of choosing whether you're in a single sex flat or not unless you have special requirements for which you need to be in a single sex flat. Quite honestly, it doesn't make any difference to student life because you just end up hanging out with people from other floors etc. anyway. I lived there last year.

If you're really unhappy with your flat, WP usually has a few spare rooms throughout the year so you can probably call the accommodation office and just ask to move to a different flat.
