c2 Remainder theorem Please help

Question: The remainders when f(x)= 2x^{3}-3x^{2}+ax+b is divided by x+1, x-1 and x-2 respectively form an arithmetic progression

I have attached what I have done please point out where I am going wrong

I cannot read your attachment,but note "respectively"so an A.P. in THAT order.
f(-1)=-a+b-5 f(1)=a+b-1. f(2)=2a+b+4. A.P. So f(1)-f(-1) must equal f(2)-f(1) gives
2a+4=a+5
a=1
A.P. Is b-6, b, b+6. I then assume "b" can be whatever you like to choose ?

Does any one know how I can use LaTex on my ipad,it would make maths explanations much easier.
b can definitely be anything: changing b just adds a constant to each of the remainders and if A, B, C are in arithmetic progression adding a constant to all 3 isn't going to change that.

Currently, the only method I'm aware of, on here, is to insert your LaTex between the tags [ l a t e x ] and [ / l a t e x ], without the spaces.
