You could use the cos rule to get the angle(s) in the large triangle.
Then use the sin rule, together with the given angle relationship to get the side you're after.

on cosine rule i get confused what sides a what sides b and what sides c?
The length is 15.6cm
Explanation:

R angle triangle= 90 degrees
Ln hypotenuse =16.9cm
Lm= shorter leg= 6.5cm

To find :
In right angled triangle lmn pythogsrus theorem states that hypotenuse squared= shorter leg squared + long

How does this relate to the question posted by the OP? LMN is a straight line in their diagram, not a right-angled triangle.

I think somebody else has given you some help in another thread, but you seem to have posted this question at least 3 times which is confusing and doesn't help you keep track of the hints :smile:

It doesn't work like that!

If you post the same question several times people just get annoyed or lose track trying to work out which thread to reply to!! There is another thread with more hints in it, but I'm not going to spend time looking for it :smile:

Think I counted 4 threads.
I gave up at that point.
