Big 4 Audit to Big 3 Management Consulting

Is it possible to complete the ACA and then move to one of the big consulting firms immediately after it? Or internally transfer to consulting with the big 4 firm?

I wouldn't say it's impossible but definitely not easy. Nothing stops you from trying as the worst that could happen is that you don't get accepted. As you've alternatively suggested, you're more likely to successfully move to MBB from Big 4 consulting.

Having said that, qualifying as an ACA in the Big 4 opens up many good possibilities. If you decide that your service line is not for you (for some reason I assume audit), you could push for a move to consulting, deal advisory or other service line within the Big 4, move into industry or make other moves with an eye on what you really want for the future. If you really want to make the move into MBB, have a look at their requirements for experienced hires or perhaps look at enrolling onto a prestigious MBA program. Consider whether that will be more effective than pushing for a move into consulting at your Big 4 firm.
