Depends.

Firstly, presuming you are a UK student applying to study either here or in the states, I’d say it’s most likely considerably less expensive to study here, though you may wish to research your options for yourself and take my guesses with a pinch of salt.

Secondly, how does this opportunity to study in the US compare to any opportunities you may have in the UK?

Thirdly, what sort of course is it you are looking at studying and where are you planning on living afterwards? I.e if you study law in the US, a lot of what you learn will not be applicable to UK law and therefore practicing law in the UK may not be an option.

Yes - why wouldn't you? It will broaden your cultural outlook, put you in challenging life situations outside your comfort zone and you will be forced to become resilient due to the distance from home. Even if you plan to study something utterly pointless, you would likely gain more life experience studying abroad than doing so here.
