Help angles and mechanics

Help!
You know to work out the angle I did tan-1(-10/1)
To get -84.3 but here it’s positive…
And it says below the x axis.
If I put minus 84.3 in an exam would I get the mark??IMG_2464.jpeg

By saying below the x-axis or clockwise from the x-axis its equivalent to saying its negative where the usual convention is +ive anticlockwise from the x-axis. You should get the mark, though there may be something specific in the question which would clarify how they wanted the answer.

Im sure you know to be careful with using atan() if the "i" component is negative, as atan() has a range -90..90.
