if the examiner puts thought into it and recognises that you make a mistake they might be able to mark it correct. however as you have made the mistake they are entitled to mark it wrong. nothing you can do now apart from hope the examiner is nice and dont make the same mistake

oh man would this also be the case if the content for both the answers is very different....

if the content is different they're more likely to pick up on the mistake you made by numbering wrong. im pretty sure they are able to award you the marks in this case and most examiners probably would but they are also probably able to mark it incorrect
