No it's not a viable alternative. It's bad enough doctors misdiagnose. What is the problem? Too many people needing medical attention in a system that has not been adequately funded or managed. Short term fix?
Having been misdiagnosed with a serious illness by a nurse practitioner I have absolutely no faith in this dreamed up cost cutting, quick trained 'plug the gap' medical stand in. Google is better.
