ok thanks. I thought it was in 2 weeks but they told me I have my speaking exam for next week so this upcoming week. how should I prepare for it?
Do you know abour the 3 bits to exam? Role play photocard and general conversation? I’m assuming you have your nominated theme and prepared responses for chosen questions so make sure you’ve got all of that memorised first off. 2nd find photocards that have been used in past speaking exams and make sure to time yourself whilst thinking of responses. Personally I’ve just been doing lots of past photocards and example roleplays they’re really helpful.

I don’t know if it’s too late but I can send you some of the photocards and stuff that I got from past papers and send you some off the responses I came up with for the general conversation in case our themes are different

Hi
I'm in the same situation and, as an external candidate, have no support.
Would it be possible for you to send me the stuff you have please?
Thank you

I'm not sure which papers uve done so far but:
For all the papers keep doing past papers over and over, it really did help me when I did mine.
If you havent already gotten the JS Nagra books for reading and writing, theyre probs the best source you can get, it literally covers everything.
For vocab and spelling- constantly test urself, make a list on quizlet of words ur not sure of, make one side eng and one side punjabi and keep doing that. Or get someone to read them out whilst u write it out.

Dayum, i never knew that there was a GCSE for Punjabi! Only if i was punjabi myself, i'd deffo take it!! Im Gujarati and Pakistani from my mum's side so i'd probs get a 7 or 8 in it lol.

Just a question tho, is there a written exam where you have to write in transliteration, or actual Gurmukhi? Thanks! Was really fascinated by this as I live in Dubai and we don't anything like this, only French and Spanish lol

yeah you have to be able to write and read in Punjabi. So you will need to use gurmurkhi for translating English words into Punjabi

Yes, if you're planning on starting from beginners level it will be in english, punjabi and a transliteration. If you want to do GCSE, the sources that the exam questions are based off will be in punjabi and then some of the questions will be in english and some in punjabi. Then for A Level all the questions are in punjabi except for questions aimed at one of the translation tasks. Most, if not all, punjabi schools use J.S Nagra because he's the only one who makes books based on what the papers require. His books are really useful tbh I really do recommend them.

We have most languages here, I think you could take an international GCSE for Arabic/Gujrati/Urdu if your fluent, no matter what country your in. I'd recccomend it xxx
