Well I have a question. I have applied for Charles Morris right. I am an international and I want to know exactly how everyone gets grouped. I see that its 8 people sharing a living/kitchen area. Does that mean all 8 people are internationals ?

I would rather a mix because I want to party socialize (much like you)... I just do not want to be isolated into he Asian community. Looking at the generalizations it seems that they are very shy and by themselves.

Care to share your perspective?

Charles Morris? Niiiice! Its getting done up at the moment so it'll look well nice by the time you move in!

In regards to grouping, the chances of you being thrown in with another 7 international students is very low. As far as I understand (and in my experience of halls) there is no grouping system in place unless special requests have been made. And as for partying and socialising...believe me, there will be plenty of that.

Hope this has helped.

Peace.

Yeah! They're a good bunch of guys. Have you seen the Facebook group? It was only £3 to join last year and have socials every couple of weeks. Do you DJ yourself? They had DJ competitions and have good ties with other nights on in the area and offer discount tickets sometimes for events. Had a massive party at the end of the first semester too which was great. You will find come freshers week you'll want to sign up for everything but you'll get plenty more info at the freshers fair.

Peace.

In regards to comfort of living or what? Or for the social aspect? Leeds' Halls are all pretty nice no matter where you live. So nice in fact, i've decided to move into one come September. If it the socialising, you will find it doesn't really matter where you go, its always going to be lively. Theres lots of people to meet and you will speak to loads of people in different halls anyways so you will find you'll be going everywhere and anywhere for parties etc. The 3 halls you mentioned are in pretty good locations for town, Uni etc and not far out as places like Boddington or Oxley. People say Boddington is the most lively but only because its the furthest away from town etc so people make their own entertainment!

Anyways, hope this is helpful.

Peace.

Yeah, I do dj a bit and produce quite a lot. Nothing serious though tends to be just playing pirate radio stuff as I don't have the time at the minute to play out and what not. Will hopefully find someone to buddy up with and making some narsty tuneees :o:
Thanks for the lowdown!

Meh. You'll do well at BPM. Everyone seems to be a dubstep DJ/producer.

Funk and hip-hop is where its at!

Thanks so much for doing this!

What can we expect from Fresher's Week? Like, what events/nights out etc are planned?

Loads and loads. You have the freshers ball of course. I think it was N-Dubz or someone last year. Theres stuff on every night and when you're walking round Uni during freshers week you'll have every promoter in the city ramming flyers down your throat and you will be inundated with stuff which is on. Theres the society fair, pop-up shops, vintage clothes fairs, poster sales, info on the local area etc. Get as much free stuff as you can!

It can get very over whelming and very expensive if you find yourself out every night. I'm pretty certain freshers week is the week before loan day (at least it was last year) so make sure you have some spare cash!

Thats a link to a freshers 2010 facebook group. Not sure if its official but its got some info on. You will start hearing a lot more about it closer to the time. Guaranteed though, theres plenty happening.

Any other questions let me know.
