I'm not sure that makes sense...

my friend has gone for a faststream job but didnt actually go to uni obtained qualification in work so does he stand more or less of chance next to the rest

A degree is a degree, thats about as far as it goes. If, as a result, he has loads more experience and can demonstrate the skills he got from those to his advantage, then thats good for him.

By the way, the fast stream is really fun I would really recommend it.

Although they will probably refer to your CV.

Probably a good chance being as they would want to employ somebody who has the experience. Its ok going to uni and all, but i have found more and more companies prefer taking on somebody with the experience, just because you are more than likely able to pick up the roll quickly than somebody who has not done it before.

Considering you have just joined and all posts are about your "friend" are you sure you're not talking about you?

And no a diploma isn't equivalent to a 2.2 degree.
