Hi, I'm currently considering dropping out of my medicine degree to pursuit something else. I'm not sure what - but I thought I'd ask some questions anyhows.
For context I am studying medicine abroad in Norway (I'm half norwegian - half english.).
I am just entering my third year and the whole way I've had my doubts about medicine, my choice of university and location, but I've stayed with my degree hoping that it would get better. At this point I'm really considering just dropping out of medicine to do something else. I feel that I've already wasted so much time doing 2 years of medicine (+ I took a gap year), that I'm worried about how long it would take me to get back into another degree and back "on-track". I was hoping to hear the experiences of other people who have been in similar situations and just receive advice in general.
I'm not entirely sure yet what else I would study, but I'm considering computer science or engineering. That leads me to the question of how difficult it would be/ how much preparation it would take for me to get into one of such degrees, preferably at a "competitive" university. Going through the UCAS process seems quite daunting to me now, especially as none of my work experience/experience/reading would be relevant to a completely different course. Would I have to wait a whole year collecting things to put onto a new personal statement?
For context, my grades from sixth form are 3 A*s in A-levels biology, maths and chemistry, and an A in AS-level physics.
I'd greatly appreciate hearing people's advice and experiences. Thank you<3
