If I resit my english language gcse in november (y13, after my application) and get a higher grade, will I then be able to use the new grade in clearing (if I need to) or will it be the same one I applied with originally?
Hey there, thanks for posting a question in the Medicine forum.
The Medicine forum gets a high volume of questions being posted, and some of these are already answered by the resources and Megathreads that members of the community and volunteers have created. This is an automatic post which is designed to highlight these resources. Below is a list of threads and articles that could answer your question (you should be looking in the original post of the megathreads). If one of the below threads is a more relevant place to ask your question, please post a reply in that thread to ask your question. If your query is answered by one of the Megathreads or articles linked below, and you would like us to close this thread for you, please reply to this thread with just the words "thank you". A member of our team will then get it locked.

You should have any resits you are planning to take on your UCAS application as pending results with a predicted grade. Any med schools would then make an offer that included achieving a particular grade, if needed and yes, you could then use it in Clearing. I think if it is not on your UCAS form, it might be dodgy to suddenly produce it out of nowhere and it may be considered that your application was incomplete and it would be voided

Alright thank you so i should add the resit to my list of academics on UCAS right now? I don’t have a predicted for this so will they still take it into account?

Yes, you should show ALL achieved and pending exam results If you need it to meet minimum requirements, most med schools will want to see that your prediction meets the required grade, so is there somebody who can do a prediction for you?

Idk but I will try asking my head of year or maybe the careers team to try sort it out. Thank you very much.
