Hello everyone, I have a BTEC level 4 diploma in Anesthesia and 4 years of hospital experience as an anesthesia technician. What do you think are my chances? I am also a first year pharmacology student at university in London. And I successfully completed my first semester courses.

I applied to Brunel University medicine and I'm waiting for a reply, I'm curious about my chances in medicine, I'm very excited
In all honesty I’m not sure, when I was applying 7 years ago undergrad courses didn’t Btecs and postgrad courses were 10x as competitive as the undergrad.
The reason I say to look at the odp course is because it sounds like you are interested in anaesthetics. There is a real shortage of training posts for medical specialties. Leaving many qualified doctors stuck without a job. At the same time the government is pushing for more anaesthetistic associates and pas.

I would not recommend medicine in this country.
Thank you for the advice you gave. Let's see, I'm waiting and hoping I get an offer. If I get an offer, maybe I will become an anesthesiologist in the future.

I really recommend looking at the rcoa page for information on how to become an anesthesiologist. Good luck!
