Business Information Management - what can I do with it?

Hiya,

This is my second post here ever since I discovered this place yesterday. I wish I had earlier cos it would have made life easier!

I'm in my first year of Business Information Management. I was just wondering what kind of work should I do in the summer? I applied to a temping agency for some secretarial/Admin work, but apart from that I have no clue what to do with my degree.

After second year there is the option of going on placement year which is what I really wanna do (Why do you think I've stuck it out for so long?) But again I don't know what I can now to enhance my prospects of getting a good job next year near enough as we start getting informed and applying during second year.

Help?!
