How does this Iphone app make you feel?

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/patriotapp/id390563133?mt=8

A new app has been release called the 'patriotapp'

It encourages you to spy and report on your neighbours wrongdoings - very police state like.

How does it make you feel, would you like a UK app like this to be released?

Useless app.
Calling 999 probably takes less time.

Here's hoping Wikileaks ****s it up.
The London underground is full of posters urging the public to report all suspicious behaviour, The Met police consistently run radio campaigns asking for people to participate in the war on Terrorism by being vigilant and reporting stuff. It's the same in the USA only more so. This patriot ap, while stuffed chock full with potential for misuse, merely brings existing government thinking in the US in to line with the capabilities of current technology. I don't think there's anything wrong with the ap if they genuinely have people willing to sit and filter through all the rubbish they're going to get sent, or tbh anything wrong with reporting crime. There's a difference between snitching on your mates in instances of minor (non criminal) disobedience to an authority figure (say a manager at work) and passing on information about, say, a violent assault.
Hello iPhone, just thought I should let you know may neighbours are ill and that the CDC might want to know about it...
 Nice
