Yes, they're always extremely friendly and courteous.

Freshers are normally so nervous and seeking of validation that if you confidently told them to jump out of the window they probably would so as not to offend you.

They might be drunk, that doesn't mean they're ********s.

Not in my experience. Most of them have never been drunk before and are wasted, and they hate people to don't take part for the reasons you can find in this thread.
But I am sure if you have been in position of anxiety and depression you would understand how she feels. I can totally relate as I have been in her situation for years so really it's preaching to their choir. But I am glad she found her light at the end of the tunnel and also she would stand out from crowd when she graduates as she won't be the one who followed the crowd out drinking and give a bad impression.
So I would suggest to anyone out there in uni to get extra curricular activities under your belt and make use of every hobby you have got/done. Otherwise there will come a time when you will be out in the real world applying for jobs and if you have the same a degree but no experience, hobbies and extra circs you won't get the job.

Well, I'm quite interested in seeing what other people have been chosen for this series. Personally, I didn't like any of them:
Lauren - didn't like the depressed Eeyore comments and how clingy she was with poor Daniel, though I can imagine how hard it must have been for her (I'm introverted myself, but I doubt I'd be behaving like her).
Josie - very annoying, doesn't seem particularly smart and is ambiguous (sleeps around yet attends mass)...Also, I use the amount of make-up she puts on for a night out in a whole month  Definitely needs to work on her self-confidence, she's perfectly pretty without all that make-up and it's a shame she doesn't realise it..
Aiden - no comment, I'll make sure to steer clear from people like him. Pathetic attention seeking, University isn't a High School retake.
Mads - a bit of a sl** thb, don't like her one bit.
Daniel - even though he was a bit of a one-off appearance, he was the only person I liked

I hope some more interesting people come on

Lauren ended up getting on my nerves tbh. Like I totally understand the social anxiety because I get it quite badly too but there has to be a point where you say to yourself "OK I'm going to push my anxiety aside and just jump in".

Aiden was a bit of a knob and Josie seemed quite naive to me. Other than that it also got me quite excited for my freshers week in September 😜

Is the whole series based on just Leicester uni or will there be others?
I posted on another thread about the show but I'm not sure how to link it to here, so I'll copy and paste it.

Honestly? It upset and scared me for university in September. I 100% feel connected with Lauren in terms of her struggling to settle into university life; not having the confidence which affects me socialising (I prefer my own company most of the time). I'm also a non-drinker so I don't feel comfortable around drunk people which means I don't go out at night.

I was looking through the #SecretLifeOfStudents tag on Twitter whilst the show and the comments I saw (who were mainly about Lauren) were horrible. They tweeted things such as: 'oh I hope I don't get stuck with someone like Lauren.', 'she needs to lighten up and stop attention seeking.' And when she quoted Anne Frank and Eeyore 'what is she, 5?'

Not every student lives up to the stereotype of drinking, having one night stands 'smashed and dashed' and having one big party like Aiden; some people go to university to learn which is the whole point.

What annoyed me the most was when the narrator was comparing the number of Facebook friends between Lauren, Josie and Aiden; Josie and Aiden had over 'extravagant' 1,200 friends whilst Lauren had a 'modest' 400 friends. So? It just means Lauren is more of a private person and doesn't accept people she doesn't know, I only have 340 Facebook friends but I'm okay with that.

Please read what I wrote earlier on in the thread.
Stick with the series, it does has other, less dramatic stories.
But please remember this is a tv show and some topics are taken out of sequence or out of context.

I didn't say I'm not watching the series, I will be!

But as I mentioned about Lauren and the fact I can see the exact characteristics within me as her, it affected me more. I had to put up with a lot of crap whilst I was at secondary school which affected my social life (I mean who wants to be friends with some loser who was bullied practically everyday for 5 years), it also emotionally scarred me which has lead to low self-esteem and lack of confidence; which makes me extremely anxious when making friends as I'm scared they will judge me. So yeah it is a TV show which has scenes that have been made dramatic to pull in the viewers but it hurt me and made more nervous for September.
Currently watching todays episode.

I feel so sorry for Lauren having to go to a university filled with idiots like Aiden. Some of them are alright, but Aiden just annoys me because he literally has no brain cells. It's no surprise he does the mediocre subject known as Business.

Helen in todays episode I like, because whilst she likes to be social she wants to still study hard and get a 1st in English. She's not anti-social, but doesn't just want to party 24/7 either.
watching the latest one...

Jack is a legend! the kind youd wana be mates with...really cool guy so far
love love the dad! got knows how jack turned out how he did...

helen dont like her at all..says one thing and does another

then blames michael...it takes two to tango..little respect for her

gemma well its cringe to say the least.. shell learn tho

seems grand bar that one thing..then again thats all she is..

Yeah I said that before the scene where she slept with Michael, she knew too well he has a girlfriend so why would she do that. Michael should have known better too tbh.

To be fair, I can understand the mindset of someone who's like "If they have a girl/boyfriend and sleep with me, that's on them, they clearly have an issue in their relationship but I'm single." But she clearly doesn't have that mindset, shows she's just weak-minded.
