Dubai fire!

Fire in Hotel near the Burj Khalifa!!

Do you think the fireworks display will be cancelled as a result?
This is really sad as there is likely a large loss of life too! :frown:

I guess they should have followed the leads of all those cities in Europe who cancelled stuff from fear of terrorism...

So you're assuming this was a terrorist attack?
They won't cancel the fireworks, too much money goes into the setting up of them and it's a huge yearly feature for them

Shouldn't be any casualties (hopefully), the tower is built to regs and has plenty of fire resistant circulation cores

Don't be stupid, it's not a terrorist attack.

There is no word on the cause.

Too early to guess the cause yet.

Fireworks should be cancelled regardless.
Ridiculous the amount of money that goes into them.
"They won't cancel the fireworks"? There were no fireworks. Oh the irony.

Edit: there were fireworks after all, they were late

Yes, the building which was built in a different way, different period of time, with different materials, caught fire in a different way etc etc didn't collapse after it caught fire.

That can only mean one thing....9/11 was an inside job.

Notice how there isn't a plane lodged in the side of it.

Notice how building 7 was never hit by a plane

That's because in many cases they're designed not to fall down with a normal fire and also because the non fire resistant cladding on the outside of the building.

Architects and structural engineers are always improving. Lessons learnt are continually being incorporated into new designs.

No. But it did have significant damage from fire, debris falling on it and a whole host of other reasons.
