Is this a good degree for banking/assest management?!

BSc (Hons) Statistics, Economics and Finance At ucl

Thanks.
The best degree for Asset Management / Banking is a degree from Oxbridge, then LSE, ICL. If you're talking about 'quantitative' asset management firms, I'd say a well regarded Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a joint Mathematics and Statistics degree.

But ucl is rated higher for most subjects and lse has a very low student satisfaction.

LSE is above UCL for all of the subjects that it teaches.

Regardless, UCL is a very good university so I really wouldn't worry too much.

LSE's supposedly flagship course, economics, has been behind UCL for the past 2 years...

Degree doesn't mean anything, the fact that you'll be at ucl is what matters

Says who? And in terms of what? If you're talking about admissions, a lot of students end up going to UCL for Economics because their Maths UMS or IB Maths predicted score isn't high enough to go to LSE. Also in world ranking, LSE is top 5 for Economics. So I have no idea what you're talking about.

This really is a pointless debate between 2 great universities.

But if we are nitpicking, LSE is more or less one of the best places in the world to study economics. Marginal deviations in unreliable rankings based on nonsense factors like student satisfaction are irrelevant.

According to rankings you'd rather study economics at Coventry than LSE...

UCL is consistently ranked above LSE for top universities in the world
https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2018

UCL has better research quality (ignoring satisfaction) and better teaching standards - UCL has silver and LSE has bronze
https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings?s=Economics

Oh, and if you want to consider student satisfaction in the list - LSE ranks above UCL for this factor in 2015, 2013, 2012 they match and so on...

Regardless, they're both good uni's - just that UCL, for most subjects, are better

Pointless debate.

But again, ask anyone in the real world whether LSE or UCL is better for economics and you'll get LSE every time - be they employers or academics.

Teaching Excellence Framework is a flawed metric based on student satisfaction. According to it Dundee is a world leading university.

Of course UCL ranks above LSE in world rankings - it's huge and does science subjects, which attract the most research funding, unlike social science subjects.

This is all completely redundant but if you want to be pedantic, this isn't even a debate. LSE is above UCL any day for economics. Almost 1 out of every 5 economics Nobel Prizes have gone to LSE alum or staff.

Just ignore that kid, he's probably a 14 y.o. UCL wannabe
Not even a UCL student says UCL is better than LSE.
