re my grades good enough?

I got 9A* and 2 As in my Gcse (the As were in Physics and History). Are these grades high enough to apply for top universities such as Oxford or Cambridge

Yes, though you can't apply to both Oxford and Cambridge, it's either/or. Now focus on doing just as well in your A levels

GCSEs are not that important for Cambridge (or oxford even). It's entry test performance and A Level grades that really matter. As long as you've got a couple of A*s to show you were performing well relative to everyone at your school, that's fine. But GCSEs are taken into account with the average GCSE point score for your school.
