Should I go to LSE (HELP)

I got my offer from LSE like 2 weeks ago.. (offer on Economics) I was like really happy when I saw the offer email. but now I'm thinking whether I should go there or not. (It's funny)

I'm quite timid because i'm an international student who are living in the country which is not my home country so uk will be a new environment for me to adapt to again.. But I know if I go there it will be a big step and there will be more opportunities. I heard that people there are kinda unsociable ? I don't know it might be just some saying that. I just have no one who I can get an advice from about hows life in uk and stuff.. Help .. :frown:

I've been thinking over this for like a week.

Hows it like going to LSE? or uni in London?

If its first degree then opportunity of a lifetime.
Think about what you want to do and how it will help you?
Do you have other offers?
What are your priorities from a uni?

London can be fantastic but it has pros and cons.

What nationality are you? Why not contact the international department or look for a student society that covers your nationality then ask them what their experience is? i.e London and the Uni. I dont think its the cuddliest place, but if you get the name on your CV then it is well regarded.

Yes its Bsc Economics. I want to have a job related to government policies .. in the future its not very specific yet but I know I really like the subject.

Since lse is more specialised in economics I think I can do more research based on real life and things I wouldnt be able to do in my home country or the country Im living in now. Also I heard that people whose first language is not english improved their english A LOT after graduating lse (it wont be just lse many other uk unis).

Plus uk is more developed? in Economics right ? So its gonna be really good opportunity for me to learn like REAL economics plus english.

Got other offers from rest of the four unis (bristol, warwick, ucl, durham) but Im not really keen going to those uni because ..I don't know my first choice was lse and my problem is whether I should stay or go to lse.

And yes it doesnt really seem to be the cuddleist place.. which I've already expected but well.. I'm worried. As you said I will try to contact someone from my country in lse and I think its the best way. Thank you so much for ur reply again !!

I think you should go for it... I wish I ever had the chance to attend LSE.. I will apply for postgraduate though

Economics is great for government, one of the core pillars is money for the government. Other then Oxford, LSE is likely the best place to get into political circles. Your destined to meet some people from higher up there. I would definitely go if you can get the grades...The history of LSE will make any cv shine it gives it an instant sparkle.

student life in london isnt the best, your poor and have to study, societies is more a campus uni thing. Not an overpriced city offering. The UCL student union had some of the cheapest beer in London though, £3.70 lol.....and thats obviously still quite expensive.

If you're a sociable person, you will have a great social life at LSE - you maybe just need to make a little bit more effort than at more typical, campus-based universities.

I'm a first year at LSE, so if you have any questions about life at LSE or halls or anything else, feel free to ask!

Birkbeck... I flopped my A levels so I am paying now the consequences having to resort to a mediocre university... bright side is that at least I can get an UoL diploma once I graduate which is somewhat well regarded by employers...

Are professors as rumour snobby and elitist bothered with the thought of lowly first year undergrads?

Definitely not - all my lecturers and teachers are really lovely and happy to talk to anyone if you go to see them in their office hour.

had an acquantaince in london friend of a friend he went to LSE, he always complained lol, only viewpoint i had, maybe he didnt engage enough he was international.

Should I go to LSE (HELP)
